The older parallel pritners (if still working) can be used even with motherboards that have gotten rid of the old parallel ports. The Abit AB9 did away with the old dated port. Now you can easily connect and get up to speed quickly.

I just bought a new motherboard that did not have a parallel port at the back so I could not use my old printer that was connected with the parallel port. I searched around for a solution and found this. This cable converts the parallel port into a USB port. I plugged it in my system and my printer was instantly recognized. Printing later on was as flawless as the parallel cable. Good product that gets the job done!

We purchased a couple of these here at the office. We needed to connect additional devices, but the one parallel slot we had was already connected to a printer.
Great way to add expansion from new technology to older technology.
