| The Good:
8 Gigs for a decent price, attractive shiny metallic finish, slim and compact |
| The Squirrelly:
The slide-open USB part doesn't stay open... it tends to get pushed back in when inserting it into your USB port so the drive won't read :/
Solution is to hold the part in place by putting pressure on the sliding switch as you insert it. Annoying. |
| Pro Tip:
I wouldn't buy another one unless they figure out some way to lock the USB drive open |

This is simply the best USB Flash drive out there. I'm quite positive that it is the smallest 8GB USB Flash Drive currently on the market. Seriously, the pictures don't do it justice, it is so much smaller in real life. I knew it was going to be small, but I was still surprised to see how small when I got the package. But beyond just the size, it is sleek looking and packs a ton of storage space. Plus its read/write speed is good. Not lightning fast, but what more could you ask for at this price.I seriously have no idea how these guys make any profit at this price. |

I really loved this little drive. It was so small that I never noticed it on my key chain. This thing would even fit in my watch pocket!!! It worked great on my PC with no driver. It also worked on my Divx player with no problems and good play speed with no lagging. Speed was great on my PC and I love the large capacity. I upgraded to this from a Lexar 4gb pico size drive and have no regrets. In summary, I highly recommend this drive to anyone needing some HUGE Ultra portable storage that you will forget is there... |

I had a Super Talent 4 gig 200X non-pico drive that was fast, but I needed more storage, so I used my old drive as a Vista Ready Boost drive and ordered this 8 gig one.
I ran HDTune on both drives and the 8 gig is just as fast as my 4 gig one, both reaching 30mb/sec speeds.
I can't believe how small this thing is. The price for 8 gigs at 200X speeds is a steal for 36 bucks shipped.
Most people don't pay attention to the speed of the drive they're buying, just the memory size. I transfer alot of data on a daily basis with my thumb drive, so having the high speed is a must.
I'm very satisfied with my drive so far. If I run into quality issue, I'll post back, but my other drive has worked without issues for a year now. |

I purchased this flash drive earlier this week. I have been waiting for a very small, high capacity, high speed flash drive, with a retractable plug, that is reasonably priced. Enter the Pico-B which had everything I was looking for.
It is very tiny and does not add any bulk to my pocket. The retractable plug is a bit flimsy, but I don't think it will break. the drive is shinny chrome, don't know if it will easily scratch, but I don't care much about that. The 8GB drive actually holds about 7.4GB (can't remember exactly). It is fast. I transferred 6.7GB in about 15 minutes on my Mac. Only $40ish total with tax and shipping, depending on the deal you get. Very satisfied. Don't pay $30 for a brand name 8GB drive with read write speeds of 10mb/sec or less. Get this blazing fast drive that smokes the rest for an incredible price. |

I was in the market for a new USB flash drive and wanted the most capacity I could find with the smallest form factor so it could fit on my keychain. Fate was with me as I stumbled upon the super talent pico series, which fit both requirements.
I originally ordered a pico-A (the swivel design), but was told that they were on backorder for who knows how long. I was weary of both the pico-B (retractable) and the pico-C (exposed contacts) as I have had trouble with retractables from a different mfg in the past and I didn’t want to have exposed contacts near my keys. The customer service rep convinced me that the pico-B was the way to go and I have never looked back.
Highs: This thing is a work of art, you will not be disappointed. The fit and finish are flawless. It has a shiny chrome looking exterior which just pops. The device really is the size of a quarter. It is tiny and fits easily on my keychain without any of the usual USB drive bulk. It is smaller than all of my keys (mailbox key included!).
The transfer speeds are phenomenal for such a small device. It also really is mac OS-X leopard and XP compatible out of the gate with no problems (I run both on different computers). I have had trouble with this point with some usb drives in the past – but this one just works.
The sliding mechanism clicks open and closed nicely with a smooth action. What more could you ask for given the $30 price??
I really like the fact that it doesn't have an led on it. They always annoy me and I have enough led lights blinking at me from various sources.
Lows: The thing is small almost to a fault. If you are prone to losing things, you may have trouble with this device. How well will it take to washing if you leave it in your pocket during the wash? (You can’t really fault the manufacturer for this point, but the potential problem still exists). Although nice and shiny while it is brand new, how well will it age? (My guess is pretty well, but who knows?)
There is no led on the drive. I know I listed this as a high as well as a low so this may be contradictory, but hear me out. I like not having the led, but I assume that I may be one of the few who feels this way. If you get comfort knowing that the led is blinking so data transfer is occurring, you may be disappointed. Personally, I like not having the led and assume that everything will go to plan with my file transfer, but to each their own.
Lastly, although the slider clicks easily and has a smooth action, the small plastic dimples which allow you to move the usb interface may dig into your fingers while sliding (Hey, you have to have something to grip onto, right?).
Overall impressions: I am completely satisfied with my purchase and would (and do) recommend the Pico-B to anyone who is thinking about buying it. I can’t speak for the other models, but if you are torn between the three, I would highly recommend the slider model. It allows you to carry a really useful tool with you, without making you look like a tool yourself. |

This thing is as tiny as advertised. I did have a bit of trouble getting my computer to see it as the slightest jiggle can pull it free from the computer (during hardware installation). Once it was successfully installed I haven't had any problems. Any heavy keys hanging from it may pull it out of the computer if the USB port is vertically oriented. Other than that it's great and compact, coming in at 7.5 GB after formatting. |
