The USB cables for digital cameras use a mini male standard. However, I have seen many different types even with the Olympus cameras we use. I am pretty sure this is a newer standard that Nikon and most of the other manufacturers have settled on. Early adopters had custom connectors that can be a pain to find if you lose the cable.
