The best, and most useful PSU field tester that I've used in 30+ years of building and troubleshooting PCs.
...and probably the cheapest one I ever bought!
The only thing squirrelly I've found about this tester is some of the reviews I've read that made me a bit concerned about the quality before I got it and started to use it. This thing is rock solid and dead on according to my $250.00 multimeter. One guy said it seemed cheap and rattled when he shook it...Not if you hold your finger on the "free-floating" On/Off push-button. Another complained about how hard it is to disconnect the cables...that's how cable connectors are....it (continued...)
The manufacturer probably would not approve of this, but I found a flaky PSU that always passed static tests, by using a Y splitter power cable and monitering the voltages all the way through the boot sequence...Bingo!

Lightweight, measures several components in desktops. Small so it fits inside the case.
Not accurate. First time I used it was on the job. Ended up having IBM ship 2 new power supplies as this tester repeatedly gave an error and audible alarm reading the 12+ voltage. While there is a 1 year warranty, I will have to test this tester before bring it on repair jobs in the field.
Wish coolmax sold adaptors to test power and connectors on laptops. May have to make a couple with laptop parts to test bricks and laptop batteries.
test this on power supplies on PCs BEFORE using it in the field or determining voltage problems in your shop.
