| The Good:
Easy to install. Came in a little box with a fan and heat sink. Works fantastic. |
| The Squirrelly:
The Warranty states that the fan coming with the CPU must be used for the warranty to be valid. It's a bugger if you want to replace it with a nearly silent fan model. |
| Pro Tip:
The heat sink already has a swab of thermal paste on the part that connects to the CPU. So, there's no need to buy it. |

| The Good:
Awesome CPU for the price! Fast and powerful, easy to overclock, very dependable. Better than I had expected! |
| The Squirrelly:
No problems. |
| Pro Tip:
The 965 and a Radeon GPU work fantastic together. When overclocking move it up a notch at a time. |

| The Good:
Great cpu. Windows 7 gave my computer a 7.2. |
| The Squirrelly:
none, it's straight foward and I do not overclock. |
| Pro Tip:
If your looking for a good site to check out this CPU go to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php and check out AMD Phenom II X4 Processor 965. You should find that it is the best buy of all the CPU's made. |

| The Good:
Come on it's an AMD
I can overclock this thing to 3.8ghz on just air cooling |
| The Squirrelly:
none really, except to get it overclocked to 4.0ghz requires liquid cooling |
| Pro Tip:
I suggest getting the six core, I wasn't patient enough to wait for it :( but still satisfied :) |

| The Good:
Speed. |
| The Squirrelly:
The fan is super loud when playing games and more loud than the stock X2 fan was. I was able to turn to down in my BIOS but it is still really loud when playing games. |
| Pro Tip:
Make sure to turn 'quiet fan' on in your BIOS if you can. You should be able to run this thing 30-36 C normal with the fan on a low setting. |

| The Good:
I love the speed of this processor. It is actually a step up from the dual Xeon 604 3.4Ghz processors I was using. I'm going to stick with AMD from now on. I've used both in the past and AMD has always been a really good processor. Superbiiz was quick to ship too. |
| The Squirrelly:
Nothing Squrrelly |
| Pro Tip:
This is for everything computer related. If you have pets (dogs or cats) make absolutely sure you have filters over any fans or better yet, shave the animal or find it another home. Also make sure all cables are put out of their way or reach. One bite into a cable and it's over with (Reason I moved up from the Xeon processors) |

| The Good:
1) Overclocking - I have the "Phenom II X4 965" currently overclocked at 3.92GHz and running fully stable on the stock heat-sync that comes with the processor using windows 7. I have successfully overclocked it a 4.1+GHz as well but it does push it to borderline system crash.
2) Price / Performance - For a $190 processor it is still right at the top in class with the new Intel i5 750. Top end motherboards for the i5 is upwards of $400 where this processor is up around $200. |
| The Squirrelly:
1) CPU Limitations on DDR2-1066 ram on a AM2+ motherboard. It will accept only single channel usage and if you have 4 ddr2-1066 pieces of ram, it will default to dd2-800 speed (can be manually change settings according to your board capabilities). |
| Pro Tip:
A) *** VERY IMPORTANT *** IF you have an AM2+ motherboard, YOU MUST CHECK with your board's manufacturer about compatibility with AM3 processors. MOST motherboard WILL NEED a BIOS update. Some boards may not support it at all but most will...again BIOS UPDATE.
B) Not all processors overclock the same so results vary but 3.8-3.9GHz with stability should be doable depending on your motherboard. I recommend a higher end motherboard if you want to overclock. I use an ASUS M4A79 Deluxe which is one of the best boards for overclocking.
C) If you are building a system from scratch, I would recommend using an AM3 motherboard with DDR3 ram for maximizing your perfomance. |

| The Good:
Great processor, easy to install. |
| The Squirrelly:
Nothing squirrelly about it, the processor wil only fit one way, if it doesn't drop right in, you have it the wrong way. |
| Pro Tip:
Paste is already applied to the heatsink provided in retail package. |
