64 bit processing, great overclocking  Reviewed by maxwell stevenson from lewiston, ME on 01/13/07

If you run this with 64 bit apps, you will get a 10% performance boost. Not only that, but these overclock to speeds upwards of 3 ghz. At that performance, for that price there is no reason not to buy, for a budget gaming rig.

Like an intel P4 3.5Ghz CPU  Reviewed by puk from Denver, PA on 01/06/07

Its like an Intel P4 3.5Ghz CPU but alot faster and alot lot better at gaming. The dual core processors are even better yet. I have an amd athlon 64 x2 4200+ AM2 and I was playing 2 games at once and watching a movie with NO LAGG. AMAZING. This 3500+ would lag though so don't try that.

Retail is the best for CPU's  Reviewed by Anonymous from Denver, PA on 11/02/06

I get everything Retail though. Retail is just the best especially for CPU's. Amd is the best company to choose from.

Decent  Reviewed by Anonymous from Dallas, TX on 10/04/06

The Venice core isn't as good as the San Diego core for overclocking. However, since I usually run stock, this is a great gaming processor. Rated at 2.2ghz, pushing to 2.5ghz seems to max out the processor stability.

Amazing Price  Reviewed by Aaaah from Norco, CA on 08/21/06

Excellent processor for the money. Upgrade your older slower 939 processor with this one. The 3500 holds its own against the X2's. At times it even beats the dual cores. Impressive performance.

Too fast?  Reviewed by Killa from Denver, PA on 08/17/06

You can never have to fast right? Wrong you can and you can have to slow if you get intel... Amd = great and Intel = trash...

I have two of these...  Reviewed by Killa from Denver, PA on 08/02/06

All i have to say is that these are great processors... I bought two when they where $200 each and that is still good... I don't think these will be bad chips any time soon...

good CPU deal for a gamer, home/business user, or a HTPC  Reviewed by Thankappa Pillai from La Crosse, WI on 08/02/06

this is a very decent CPU for around $90. it is good for just about any purpose and will perform similar to a 3.4GHz Pentium 4, which costs about $150 more! that is why AMD is the way to go. and with AMD's signature integrated memory controller, it will perform better than even its rated speed at gaming and apps like spybot, antivirus and winRAR, which are all things we hate lag on. so this is perfect. however, if you know how to overclock, save $20 get a 3000+ and overclock it to 2.4 (3800+) on stock cooling. however its only $20, and this thing can hit 2.6GHz on stock cooling. the motherboard that i would recommend for this would be: Gamer/Professional programmer, demand user: DFI nf-DAGF Home/business: ECS budget mobo HTPC: Biostar Tforce 6100 mATX and also i would recommend a good heatsink if you plan to overclock further than 2.5-2.6GHz like the Arctic cooling alpine 64, freezer pro, or if you can afford it, the Big Typhoon ($40 on eWiz) and Tuniq Tower (hard to find, like $50)

Under a 100 bucks  Reviewed by Lizard from Tulsa, OK on 07/31/06

For the money, this is a great gaming processor. it is only a single core, but the 939 is a very fast socket. Boards are dropping in price as the newer AM2 is available. For gaming, this is sweet
